Savior vs. Save Her by Aubrey Flurer

Updated: Feb 27, 2021

Everyone looks to me as their savior, a life boat to board to cling onto when the ship called Life has entrapped them from the inside out.

The waves of Emotion have engulfed each and every one of them and refuses to spit them out, despite how gentle they can be.

I can’t save my sister from her addiction.

I can’t save my brother from his alcoholism.

I can’t save my mother from her depression.

I can’t save my father from his stress.

I can’t save my best friend from his HIV status.

I can’t save my partner from his bipolar disorder.

Who I can save, is her -

Me.
